The main activities of the Foundation are:

• the annual presentation of the Thorolf Rafto Memorial Prize for human rights work 
• projects concerning the Rafto Laureates
• and the continuous organization of educational projects promoting human rights

The Rafto Foundation is established in the humanistic tradition of the Helsinki Accord.

The Rafto Foundation aims to promote the three fundamental human rights of intellectual, political and economical freedom.
